Sweet Cello is a pure breed, standard, wire hair Dachshund. You don’t see these dogs very often, and boy is he cute! Cello was part of a hoarding situation and was going to be taken to a shelter, but we were asked to take him and couldn’t say no. Cello had a herniated disc in his back and had temporarily lost mobility in his hind legs (very common for his breed). He had surgery to repair the disc, and after a few months of physical therapy, he is back on his feet like nothing happened! Cello is the sweetest, most docile boy. He loves other dogs and cats. He is housebroken, and loves to go on walks. He still has a little wobble in his step but it actually makes him more adorable if that is possible!

Given where he came from, Cello is very shy at first, and is easily frightened when in new situations. He will need time to acclimate to a new home, but once he settles in, there is no more affectionate dog around.  He loves to cuddle and have his belly rubbed. He is a bit of a couch potato and loves hanging out with his people.  He will sleep with his head on your shoulder, and snuggle as long as you let him. Cello will do best in a calm home without small children, and should continue with physical therapy for a while to keep strengthening his back.  If you are looking for the most soulful, mellow, sweet boy, Cello is the dog for you.
