Last week was a paws-itively magical week for us as we celebrated our biggest fundraising event of the year – Makeovers for Mutts.

The event, held at the posh Peninsula Hotel, yielded some major buzz, including a segment on EXTRA!. We were thrilled that we had the opportunity to tell so many people about how important FOSTERING dogs and cats for us is to helping Much Love rescue animals from the shelters in and around Los Angeles.

In addition to the amazing financial outcome, many of Much Love’s rescues found homes. Bella Donna, an adorable lab mix puppy was adopted by actor David Faustino and Bodega, a spirited terrier mix, was adopted by writer Andrew Kole. A large part of the event’s success was also achieved by spreading the message of rescuing and fostering animals, which was heard loud and clear.

It took a dedicated team of nearly 500 community supporters, and a lot of hard work to pull off the successful soiree. Thank you to all the volunteers who contributed – whether it was handling dogs, working the silent auction, taking photos or videos or helping with check-out – we couldn’t have done it without you. Additionally, thank you to all those who rescued a dog or paid to participate in the event. And, a special thank you to Dr. Davis Nguyen for hosting the event and Maria Menounos who was honored at the event for her ongoing dedication to rescuing animals and ensuring they are loved and cared for.

In case you missed this year’s event, enjoy this video which highlights the evening’s festivities:
