Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a Much Love Volunteer. We are a 100% volunteer run organization and are always looking for new volunteers!

If you would like to know more about our organization, browse this web site, visit us at one of our adoptions, and when you are ready come to one of our volunteer orientations.

volunteer orientations

All new volunteers must attend a new volunteer orientation before they can begin volunteering. After you attend our orientation you can come volunteer with us anytime. All volunteers must be 18 or older or accompanied by an adult at all times.

Volunteer orientations are held at our 2 adoption sites, on the 1st Saturday of each month at 12:30 pm at Venice Blvd & Abbot Kinney in Venice. And the 3rd Sunday of each month at 12:30 pm in the parking lot of the Lost Planet location (sorry no parking in the lot) on Main Street in Santa Monica 1/2 block north of Ocean Park. You don’t need to let us know you are coming, but we hope to see you soon!

volunteer duties

However much time you would like to spend, whether it be walking dogs for an hour or joining us at our weekend adoptions, no amount of time you can contribute is too little.  Just a few things you can do to volunteer are:

1. Help set up or breakdown at adoption day events
2. Walk the dogs and spend time with them if they are at a veterinary office
3. Transport the dogs to or from adoption days
4. Help get people to adoptions by posting pictures and bulletins on myspace, Facebook, etc social media sites every week
5. Donate towels and blankets to the rescue
6. Go to Centinela feed with my monthly free gift coupon and donate those items to Much Love
7. Go online to www.premier.com to purchase collars for the 25 dogs we currently have. (buying in bulk is cheaper)
8. Donate one month for a spay/neuter
9. Research grants that are available for the rescue
10. Contact friends to see if they would donate services to our next auction

Volunteering isn’t only about spending time with the animals (though it is the best part!). If you have an expertise that you would be willing to offer, such as accounting practices, fundraising skills or even sewing skills for our doggie beds, we would love to hear from you.
