The sweet girl’s name is Turnip (aka Sweetie Pie). A Much Love volunteer saw her in her cubicle at the shelter frightened and scared and would not come out. The shelter said they had never seen her come out. The volunteer knew she would die there so she started working with her. We thought it would take a very long time for her to come out of her shell but it took a week of love and kisses and she kissed back and started to walk on a leash. She was so terrified it was heartbreaking. Never once when the volunteer pulled her out of her cubby and lifted her in her arms was she ever aggressive. In fact we don’t believe she has a mean bone in her body. We then got a call that she was really sick with Pneumonia and we just could not let her die after all the progress she had made. She is now at the vet office being cared for and is ready to go into a foster without other dogs for awhile. She is an absolute angel!
