Meet Thumper! Thumper is a pure breed Bassett Hound.  She is about 4 years old, spayed, and healthy.  Thumper ended up at the North Central shelter.  It is believed she ran away from a neglectful home.  She came into the shelter very underweight, filthy, with an ear infection, and terribly overgrown nails. The owners were contacted but never came to claim her.  She was quickly adopted by a man with a dog and a cat, but after 6 weeks, he felt he and Thumper hadn’t bonded. He said she is a little fearful of men but lights up when any women came over to visit.  Thumper loved his dog and cat and did great with both of them, but he felt she might fit better with a female in the household.  He went to return her to the shelter but was intercepted by an intervention group who contacted Much Love and we took her.  Thumper is super mellow, sweet, and has the most gentle soul. She is quiet and very well behaved in the house.  She loves other animals and children. She does really light up around women, and while she doesn’t run from men, it takes her a bit to warm up and feel comfortable. She just needs to learn to trust.  She loves going on walks but is not entirely house trained yet.  She comfortably relieves herself in the yard, but doesn’t quite yet seem to understand that walks are for that purpose too. She is very smart so it’s just a matter of time. Thumper is truly the sweetest girl you will meet.  She deserves a wonderful loving home.  Could that be with you?
