Peter languished at the South LA shelter for 5 weeks without medication from a broken pelvis, kidney stones, and a spinal injury – all very painful and preventing him from peeing and walking normally. Much Love rescued Peter and he had surgery for his kidney stones, is on a prescription diet and is able to pee normally now. Yay! He has started physical therapy and will be doing that for the next several months with the best medical care available. Peter would do best in a home with someone who is very familiar with the breed and is not put off by what he has overcome and what he still has ahead. He likes dogs, but as he’s healing, he needs to be watched carefully and should only be around small dogs. Kids are not recommended. Peter is crate and potty-trained. He is available for adoption now to the perfect guardian who is able and willing to bring him to PT (which is paid for), 2x/week through December, will continue to do his exercises with him at home and be patient with him through his recovery. Peter is also due for a dental (fully paid for) but we are waiting to get through the PT before we tackle that! He is a sweet and lovable dog and is finally in a situation with his foster where he feels loved and cared for. We are excited to find his forever family who loves him just the way he is and who will adore him forever!
