But, cats are clawing for attention too. Feline friends make fantastic pets, particularly for those wanting a more docile and low maintenance animal around. Here are 10 reasons cats make great house companions:
1. They don’t need a yard. Bonus for all you apartment-dwellers!
2. The really need very little space in general and will probably stick to one area once they determine their favorite nesting spot.
3. They don’t require a lot of attention: just food, water, a litter box and some head scratches now and then....
On June 23rd at 11am on the rooftop of L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills, Much Love parent (of three wonderful dogs!) and yoga instructor extraordinaire Jennifer Pinto will be leading a yoga class, and all of the proceeds go to benefit Much Love. The cost is $10 at the door.
Jen will lead you through your asanas on the rooftop of one of Beverly Hills most unique and peaceful boutique hotels. We are so grateful to have friends like Jen and the folks at L’Ermitage, so let’s thank them by joining the class and blissing out...
We received the following wonderful note accompanied by an extremely thoughtful and generous donation from the St. James The Less/Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in La Crescenta:
Dear Much Love Animal Rescue:
I am a Religious Education Catechist for a 2nd grade at St. James the Less and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church located in the city of La Crescenta, CA. Our class began their quest to make a difference in helping serve others through a Recycling program. They researched various charities to learn their importance and impact these...
On June 23rd from 11am-3pm, Angel City Brewery in downtown LA is hosting Barks, Bubbles, and Brews- a doggie wash to benefit Much Love! Suds will be the name of the game—first we’ll splash around in the soapy kind and get lots of dogs clean, and then we’ll drink some of the kind crafted by Angel City. Sign up here to volunteer!
We will also be hosting a mini-adoption, so we will need volunteers to help wash the dogs and to also handle the adoptable dogs. Recruit your friends and family for this unique event with our friends...
In the past month, Much Love has seen a gigantic uptick in kittens and cats at the shelter and living as strays. This time of year is ideal for creating awareness among our community of the growing cat population. Cat communities across America are experiencing a population explosion, as the annual phenomenon of spring mating has just occurred. And, since heat increases fertility in cats, many attribute the recent rise in the scale of “kitten season” to global warming.
These new kittens are at risk of vehicular injuries, predation by...
Below is a wonderful story from volunteer Amy I. on how fostering a cat can bring joy not only to our feline friends, but to the foster “mom” as well. If you’d like to foster a cat (or dog) for Much Love, please fill out a short application here and we will contact you!
She was a tiny little tangerine tabby cat hiding under a brush, cradled in dirt and sadness, when I found her. I reached my hands out and said sweetly, “here kitty kitty,” but she wouldn’t budge. Her eyes were stained with muddy tears and I had no...
The Cesar Milan Foundation featured our senior boy, Nui today on all of it’s social media. At the time of this posting, Nui had received over 5,000 “likes” on Facebook and hundreds on Instagram.
All of this publicity is so amazing for Nui and for Much Love, but the most important “like” Nui could ever get would be a forever home. Yes, he’s an older dog, but he is a wonderful companion, is house trained, and will give you nothing but love for several years to come. Please consider Nui if you are looking...
A fabulously relaxing time was had by all on Saturday, May 18 at one of our most unique adoption events ever! Spa Nautica at the Ritz Carlton-Marina Del Rey generously hosted an adoption for us%2
On Saturday, May 11th, Much Love “took over” the West LA Shelter and we had a wonderful day! Prior to May 11th, Much Love friends and volunteers diligently spread the word that we would be sponsoring the first 25 dogs and 25 cats to be adopted that day. We had a supremely successful day, and had 26 dogs and 11 cats adopted out of the shelter on Saturday. Much thanks to our vivacious and helpful volunteers who greeted potential adopters, shepherded them through the shelter to help them meet their matches, and then gave them donated...
Cadbury met his sponsor Ben on Sunday, and they had a wonderful interaction. We are so grateful for sponsors like Ben,who make it possible for us to go into the shelter and rescue the “medical cases”. Post-surgery Cadbury is a playful wonderful pup with a new lease (and leash!) on life. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of people like Ben and all of you who contribute your time and resources to Much Love. Thank...
