On Saturday, May 11th, Much Love “took over” the West LA Shelter and we had a wonderful day! Prior to May 11th, Much Love friends and volunteers diligently spread the word that we would be sponsoring the first 25 dogs and 25 cats to be adopted that day. We had a supremely successful day, and had 26 dogs and 11 cats adopted out of the shelter on Saturday. Much thanks to our vivacious and helpful volunteers who greeted potential adopters, shepherded them through the shelter to help them meet their matches, and then gave them donated supplies from our generous supporters to take home with their new family addition.
And by the way, it was a lot of fun! Whenever a new adoptee and his/her parents emerged from the shelter, the crowd assembled and erupted in cheers and applause. We also had the wonderful folks from Town and Country Groomers on site to give each and every dog adopted (and some who weren’t so lucky to get adopted that day) a gentle bath and some much needed TLC. The photographer Lisa Dragani also came by to document the day and take portraits with her two very helpful assistants we are so grateful that Lisa and her crew could donate their time and creativity once again. And the generous folks from WAKA Kickball and Social Sports donated TONS of cat food and treats which we gave to every adopter! Thanks to everyone who make this day so successful for the animals! And as a bonus, we got several doggy “moms” adopted, and several human moms received an early Mother’s Day present in the form of a new 4-legged family member!
