Rescue present The 4th Annual BowWowWeen, a benefit for Friends of Barrington Dog Park and Much Love Animal Rescue in association with
The Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks on Sunday, October
30 at the Barrington Dog Park in Brentwood, CA from noon to 4 pm.
Dog Costume Contest
Starting at 2:00 pm, the highlight of the
afternoon will be a Doggy Costume Contest with the winner of the
“best in show” grand prize receiving a year’s supply
of dog food. Other categories include “funniest costume,”
“scariest costume,” “best owner and doggie duo
costume.”
There will be a $10 entry fee donation for the
first submission and $5 for each additional category.
Enter your dog in the costume contest
Winners will be decided upon by a panel of
celebrity judges. To date, the 2005 judges will include Tori Spelling
(VH1’s Notorious), Tiffani Thiessen (Director/Producer, Just
Pray), Constance Zimmer (HBO’s Entourage), Emmanuelle Vaugier
(Saw 2), Adam West (The Original Batman), Kate Walsh (NBC’s
Grey's Anatomy), plus Los Angeles Magazine’s Senior Editor Margot
Dougherty and Publisher of The Hollywood Dog Magazine, Greg
Oehler. The contest will be emceed by Matt Gallant (Animal Planet).
Other activities will include: Dog adoptions by various animal
rescue groups; photo booth for photos of attendees with their
dressed-up dogs; mobile microchip clinic; doggy masseuse; expert
trainers to answer questions; vendors displaying the latest in
must-have dog paraphernalia; artists specializing in animal portraits;
catering by local Brentwood restaurants; the Big Dog Sportswear
Children's Bounce House; rock climbing wall for kids; agility
demonstration for show dog enthusiasts.
A Silent Auction will be held with items including a private jet
trip for four to Napa Valley, hotel stays at four star hotels, signed
memorabilia from A-list celebrities, a walk-on to a hit television
show, gift certificates for award winning restaurants, dog-oriented
services and merchandise gift baskets, sporting event tickets, and
more. All money raised goes directly to the animals of Much Love Animal
Rescue and to support the Barrington Dog Park’s renovation
efforts.
Admission is free to the public. Parking is free in the lot at the park and is also
available at a pay lot north of the Barrington Post Office.
